Allegories
The Allegories: Speaking Otherwise
The Origin
This section is the culmination of a decade-long journey building Richards Systems. While the infrastructure has been evolving for ten years, this knowledge base represents a focused, distinct locking-in of that vision.
These pages are the result of a specific rhythm: Saturday mornings spent in meditation, prayer, and deep thought, followed by inspired human action. It is here that the uneasiness about the future is transformed into incremental improvements—pruning, organizing, and writing.
The Purpose
For years, I honed these stories in the real world—discussing them at bars, debating in communities, and gathering feedback to see what resonated. I used to call them parables, but Allegories is the true name.
They are a tangible way to explain the intangible: the dystopia that could come about, the nuances of governance, and the impact of future technologies. They are the systems I have built, translated into narrative.
The Definition
Allegory (n): From the Greek, meaning "speaking otherwise."
These stories are a visual representation where characters, places, or events symbolize deeper meanings. They are a puzzle where the whole story carries a hidden message. They are the "literary secret handshake"—a way to speak the truth about complex systems and moral significance, hidden in plain sight for those who know how to look.
