AR Tactile Education Opportunities

Little Erin steps away from door with a vigor towards the adventure she is about to have. She has her AR glasses and gyroscope gloves adorned. She’s gonna “catch em all!“

While in Carl’s 100 acre woods, Erin scans for any minute movement. She listens for peeps, rustles, or chirps… the sound of silence is deafening…

Erin gives up on mammals, and drops her gaze to the forest floor - slightly arched and looking, looking, looking… there!

She gets close to what seems to be a worker ant carrying a leaf!

She holds her hands out in a heart, and the AR glasses use the “magic wand” feature to paint a wire frame around the ant. Then, a solar system of documents expand around her. She stands tall and looks up and around at the celestial clockwork of knowledge webs. With her hands she sorts through the noise… (latin genus and species)… until she finds the indigenous name. She hears the name of this ant through her glasses, and then leans over and yells at the ant “[…]!“ (the name of “ant“ in the region Erin is at, given by the indigenous person who named that animal - with sounds best suited for integrating with that nature… as opposed to latin or english).

Erin is pleased… she then waves her hand in a square root symbol, and the glasses ask her: “would you like to print this ant?“ to which Erin responds: “Yes!“

Erin continues on into the forest until she hears a cowbell ring - towards which she turns to get some grub at home-base… she is so excited to add the 3d printed ant to her collection, and to socialize her tasteful discovery with schoolmates in her home-room CAD folder…
